Description

This is a 1-bit logo set made for Jason Ryan, Jesse McIntosh, Jordan Nguyen, and Jyordana Barsuglia of "Higher Level Games", a game development studio focused around educational video games. Each individual held different roles in the studio, which directly influenced the creative direction they wanted the logo to go in.

I began rapidly prototyping basic layouts, pixel-by-pixel. This gave me an opportunity to experiment with a lot of different juxtaposition of elements in the piece without spending too much time on any single one. This resulted in eight unique concepts ranging from corporate to whimsical, from which I asked each person to the three they favored. From there, we decided on the most common denominator - a joystick with the initials of the studio forming its plate.

Despite my best efforts not to show favoritism when working with clients, I'll admit to being ecstatic when they chose this version over the others.
