Conscious

This is a fiery album art for Ian Ashcraft, Tyler Leigh, Julian Lucky, Hunter McKibbin, and Aaron Mullins of "Crafted in Ashes", a grunge music group.

Having had some experience with photomanipulations in the past, I was excited to work on something for print at a high resolution. The client had a clear vision of what they wanted, and what you see is my interpretation of said vision. A field of grass with a dirt path paved in the middle, a wispy silhouette of a man with his arms spread out, and a blazing forest fire were all requested as centerpieces of the piece. They also provided a sample from one of the songs featured in the album, so with vivid images flooding my mind as I listened, I immediately got to work.

Due to the nature of cd jacket prints being folded in half, I decided to create two versions; one with the focal point in the center (for digital), and one with the focal point offset to the right (for print). The draft was approved, which meant all that remained was repeating this process at 300DPI, followed by typography and additional visual affects, and finally ended with color corrections.

To this day, I'm quite pleased with the result as it genuinely looks like something I would listen to. More importantly, each member of the band unanimously approved of the finished product.

Between remaking the logo, the title of the album, and the set list, "Knife Fight Ballet", "Rothenburg Decorative", "I Still Know", and "Everyday Ghost" fills out the roster of fonts used.
